1. Presidency: Drama, colour as APC holds primary [Punch Newspaper]

The All Progressives Congress presidential primary, which began on Tuesday and lasted till early hours of Wednesday, was characterised by drama as aspirants stepped down for a  former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and the Vice-President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo.

Although the convention proper was supposed to have commenced at 3.30pm based on the programme of events, it did not begin until about 7:40pm when the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), arrived.

2. I regret nominating Osinbajo to work with Tinubu – Bayo Onanuga laments [NewsWireNGR]

Former Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and now the spokesperson of the Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Bayo Onanuga, has said that he regrets nominating Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo to be Attorney-General during the administration of Bola Tinubu as governor of Lagos.

Onanuga, in a statement titled ‘Tinubu and Osinbajo: The True Story of How They Met’, said days after Tinubu was elected as governor in 1999, he started deliberating on the people that would form his cabinet. Onanuga said he was the one who nominated Osinbajo to Tinubu but that he regrets it now seeing the ‘turn of events between Tinubu and Osinbajo. Read more.

The General Overseer (GO) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said he knows a name that can change Nigeria for Good.

4. 7 Southern presidential aspirants protest APC northern governors’ five-man list [NewsWireNGR]

Seven Presidential aspirants from the South on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress have rejected the names of five presidential aspirants submitted to the President, Muhammadu Buhari, as most preferred by northern governors.

5. How APC National Chairman, evicted Journalists from party’s secretariat [NewsWireNGR]

Security operatives on Monday night evicted journalists wearied from waiting endlessly for the presidential convention accreditation, out of the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja.
