APC Special Convention [2023]: Senator Akpabio steps down for Tinubu

The former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has withdrawn from the race for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket while urging his supporters and delegates to instead support fellow contestant, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This is coming about two days after he debunked similar reports.

In an earlier denial of such development, Akpabio had said; “He has not stepped down for any aspirant neither has he withdrawn from the presidential contest.

“He has no reason to withdraw neither is he thinking about it. He is in the race, not only to win the party’s sole ticket, but to also emerge the president of this great country in 2023 Insha Allah.”
