The All Progressives Congress on Tuesday began moves to pick its consensus candidate with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), explaining qualities the party’s flag bearer in the 2023 presidential election must possess.

Buhari, who said this during his meeting with the 23 APC governors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, advised the party to think of the right candidate that possessed the qualities he outlined. Read more.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, May 31st, has jetted out of Nigeria on a State Visit at the invitation of the Spanish President, Pedro Sanchez.

This was disclosed in a statement made available to the media by the President’s spokesman, Femi Adesina.

Adesina said the president will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN); Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo; Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola; Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare; and the Minister of State for Health, Olorunnimbe Mamora. 3. 2023: What Tinubu told APC Presidential Screening Committee — Aide [NewsWireNGR]

he national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and 2023 presidential aspirant of the party, Senator Bola Tinubu, on Monday appeared before the party’s John Odigie-Oyegun-led seven-man Presidential Screening Committee.

According to a statement issued by Mr Bayo Onanuga, Director-General Tinubu Campaign Organisation, the former two-term Lagos State governor answered questions bordering on his upbringing, educational and professional background at the screening.

Onanuga said Tinubu, who is also one of the leaders of the APC, told the panel why he is qualified to fly the flag of the APC as its 2023 presidential candidate. Read more.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential screening committee has been asked to disqualify Bola Tinubu, a former Lagos governor, over “questionable educational qualifications”.

In a letter dated May 17, 2022, one Sagir Mai Iyali, who identified himself as an APC member from Kano state, asked the party to disqualify Tinubu over alleged false documents the latter tendered to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in 1998.
