Hundreds of families homeless as windstorms destroy 220 houses in Jigawa

Windstorms have destroyed about 220 houses and properties worth millions of naira in some communities of Jahun Local Government Area, Jigawa State rendering hundreds of families homeless.

Jahun LG Chairman, Ado Mai Unguwa, has confirmed the incident while the affected areas were gathered to have included Kale, Kargo and Buraburi.

Unguwa, however, sympathized with the victims of the disaster and promised to support the affected families.

According to a report by Daily Post, the incident occurred on Tuesday night. A resident said the windstorms blew off the roofs of some houses and some public buildings in the area.
