Blasphemy: Police declare wanted prime suspects in killing of Deborah

The prime suspects in the death of Deborah, a year-two student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto have been declared wanted by the state police command.

NewsWireNGR had earlier reported that a group of Muslim students at Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto in a viral gory video on Thursday stoned and burnt a lady alive over alleged blasphemy against Prophet Mohammed.

The prime suspects in a series of viral video boasted to have been involved in her death.

A statement issued by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Sanusi Abubakar, said the suspects claimed in a video that they instigated the killing of Deborah Samuel for alleged blasphemy.

He noted that other suspects arrested at the scene while dispersing the mob were charged to court and remanded in prison. 

He maintained that the State Commissioner of Police Kamaldeen Kola Okunlola had declared the suspects seen in the viral video wanted. 

Abubakar reiterated the Command’s commitment towards apprehending the suspects, adding that the command has already spread its dragnet for the suspects.

He enjoined members of the public to cooperate with the police and report any of rhe suspects to the command  or any security outfit in their domain.
