I’m no longer member of Lagos APC — Osinbajo

Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has moved his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Lagos to Ogun state.

The Ogun state indigene who declared for presidency on Monday said the action was completed when he revalidated his APC Membership status in Ward One, Ikenne, Ogun State on 9th February 2021.

The Senior Special Assistant-Media & Publicity to the Vice President, Laolu Akande confirmed the development to Daily Independent.

Prior to his movement, Osinbajo is a chieftain of the Lagos APC with his polling unit at Code 33, Unit 2 Victoria Garden City, Lagos.

After months of speculation, the VP on Monday announced; “I am today, with utmost humility formally declaring my intention to run for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of APC.

“At the direction of Mr. President, I have represented our country in several international engagements. I have been in markets, factories, schools, and farms. I have visited our gallant troops in the North-East and our brothers and sisters in the IDP camps.

I believe that the very reason why the Almighty God gave me these experiences, these insights and these opportunities, is that they must be put to the use of our country and its great peoples.”
