Swedish House Mafia, The Weeknd to replace Kanye at Coachella

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, USA, has announced via its verified Instagram account on April 6, 2022, that Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd will be headlining Coachella, replacing Kanye west.

This announcement came after Kanye reportedly removed himself from the line-up. 

The Swedish House music group that is known for their song “Don’t You Worry Child”, and Canadian singer ‘The Weeknd’, real name Abel Makkonen Tesfay, will be headlining the event on Saturday, April 17 & 24, 2022.

The Weeknd reportedly demanded Coachella pays him the same amount they would have paid Kanye west, $8.5M.

He also threatened to pull out of the event if the company’s management refuses to pay him the exact amount.

The management eventually caved in, according to Page Six, and agreed to pay The Weeknd the same money.
