The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, was on Thursday slammed on Twitter for posting a fellowship offer that closed last year (2021) October.

The aide to the president’s tweet reads; “Our young graduates may wish to apply for the Graduate Fellowship Program by UNDP. They will place 20,000 graduates into 1-year internships in various multi National companies and development partners. The salary is good and the experience is unquantifiable.

“The link for the fellowship is http://njfp.ng

“It is co-sponsored by UNDP and EU.

“This is a great opportunity for our unemployed graduates. Please help us give it widest publicity.”

Meanwhile, a click on the provided link showed that the “deadline to apply as a Fellow has now closed and applications are currently being reviewed”.

According to the organisers of the fellowship, “Applications are open from 6 September 2021 to 20 October 2021”.

Reacting, a Twitter user, @AkinolaKintan, said; “A top presidential aide dropped link that’s close already how do you expect Nigerians to apply when the application is already being reviewed or what’s the need for the information now”.

Another user, @bushdanielo, commented; “Nigerians do you see wickedness of our leaders something that ended six months ago. He’s posting it on his tweet page that we should help with the publicity of programs. This injustices upon injustices”.

Angered by the post, a user, @LordLakeside, said; “Shameful to say the least. Application closed since last year and you are posting this now”.

Recalling a similar error by the federal government, @tijanihabeeb, said; “Same government that appointed a dead person”.
