Netflix’s Inventing Anna’s Sorokin to be deported

Netflix, an American streaming service, released a drama television miniseries on February 11, 2022 based off reporting from American journalist Jessica Pressler, about a Russian-German convicted con artist.
The con artist’s real name is Anna Sorokin. She pretended to be a wealthy German heiress under the name Anna Delvey.
On October 3, 2017, Anna was arrested in Los Angeles, California by the police department. This was thanks to a sting operation by the Los Angeles’s Police Department and the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.
She was was she was convicted in 2019 of second degree larceny and was sentenced to 4 to 12 years in prison, for continuously swindling banks.
She was released from prison on February 11, 2021. A month later, she was taken into custody by the ICE for over staying her visa.
The con artist has now been released from ICE custody and will be deported to Germany by Monday night.
