Oscar-winning MCU actor, McChord Hurt, dies aged 71

Hollywood actor, William McChord Hurt, has passed away at 71 due to natural causes. 

His is passing was announced by his son, Will hurt on March 13, 2022.

He announced that his father passed peacefully of natural causes. 

“It is with great sadness that the Hurt family mourns the passing of William Hurt, beloved father and Oscar winning actor, on March 13, 2022, one week before his 72nd birthday,” his son wrote. 

“He died peacefully, among family, of natural causes. The family requests privacy at this time.”

The actor who was known for his role in multiple MCU films as Thaddeus Ross was in a long battle with cancer. In 2018, it was announced that his terminal prostate cancer had spread to his bones. 

William Hurt was an Oscar winner for Kiss of the Spider Woman, he also won Best Actor at the BAFTAs and the Cannes Film Festival for Children of a Lesser God (1986) and Broadcast News (1987). 

William also got a Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for the film  ‘A History of Violence’. 

He has appeared in five MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) films over the past two decades. The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Black Widow.
