1. Buni may head APC convention, uncertainty surrounds zoning [Punch Newspaper]

The  Yobe State Governor and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Caretaker Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni, may supervise the party’s national convention on March 26.

2. N1trn inflow set to escalate excess cash in banks [Vanguard Newspaper]

Liquidity inflows totaling N1.02 trillion will hit the interbank money market this month aggravating  the volume of excess cash in banks.

The inflows comprise of N335.13 billion coupon (interest) payment on FGN Bonds, N390 billion matured secondary market treasury bills (Open Market Operations, OMO), and N295.33 billion from matured primary market treasury bills (Nigeria Treasury Bills).

3. Hushpuppi: No sufficient evidence linking Abba Kyari to money laundering  — Malami [NewsWireNGR]

The office of the Attorney General of the Federation has issued new legal advice exonerating suspended DCP Abba Kyari from money laundering allegations following his indictment in the $1.1million cyberfraud masterminded by Ramon Abbas ‘Hushpuppi’.

The office of the AGF which in its first legal advice admitted that a prima- facie case of money laundering of 33 payments (proceeds of crime) was established by the DIG Joseph Egbunike led Special Investigation Panel against Kyari has now said, there are no links with Kyari following further investigations.

4. Wike’s outburst speaks to the malaise in the Nigeria judiciary – APC [NewsWireNGR]

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ebonyi has slammed Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike for his outburst against Governor David Umahi’s defection suit.

The APC on Sunday described the Rivers Governor’s statement as reckless and an affront on the Judiciary.

Chairman of Ebonyi APC, Stanley Okoro-emegha stated this in a statement on Sunday.

He was reacting to media reports credited to Wike who was quoted as saying he was one of the forces behind the ruling of an Abuja High Court, which ordered for the sack of Umahi and his deputy, Kelechi Igwe from office for defecting to APC from the People’s Democratic Party(PDP). Read more.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) started its week with the introduction of 24-hour operation for over 40 ppl filling stations in Abuja as part of efforts to ensure the disappearance of fuel queues.

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), is seeking urgent intervention from the Federal Government to support the production of goods, as diesel price hits N730 per litre.

Mr Lanre Popoola, the Chairman, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo branches, stated this in Ibadan on Sunday, while speaking on the increase of prices of petroleum products and lack of power supply. Read more.

8. Malami makes another u-turn, says he asked for further probe of Abba Kyari, not exoneration [NewsWireNGR]

Justice Minister, Abubakar Malami, SAN, said he requested for further probe with a view to cover the field in investigation to arrived at informed decision on Abba Kyari.
