The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), is set to announce an extension of its 4-week industrial action for another two months according to a source.

The National Executive Council, NEC, of the Union held a meeting on Sunday in Abuja to decide whether to or not extend its four-week strike which comes to an end on Monday.

Although the union has not made any public statement regarding the outcome of the meeting, the source claimed members resolved at the meeting held in an undisclosed location that the industrial action is extended for two more months.

The outcome of the meeting, the source said, was being drafted to be released in a statement to the media soon.
