1. Govs dump Buni, back Bello as confusion reigns in APC [Punch Newspaper]

The simmering leadership crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress for several months took a different dimension on Monday in Abuja as most of the governors were said to have abandoned the Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni, who had been steering the affairs of the APC since June 2020.

In an unprecedented move, the Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Bello, who is a member of the caretaker committee, arrived at the APC national secretariat about 12:30pm to assume the position of the acting  chairman of the caretaker committee.

Contrary to wide reports that Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, his counsel, Mr Yomi Alliyu said he’s not released.

The Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors (ANED) says some customers pay for meters because not all approved metering schemes, currently active in the country, offer meters at no immediate expense.

ANED’s Executive Director, Research and Advocacy, Mr Sunday Oduntan, in a statement in Abuja on Monday, however, said that whatever paid would always be spread and refunded to them over a period of time. Read more.

Niger Governor Abubakar Sani- Bello has taken over the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He acted as Acting National Chairman of the party’s Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).

5. Oluwabamise: Despite condemnable act, BRT remains safe — Sanwo-Olu [NewsWireNGR]

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has assured Lagosians that the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services remain safe despite the death of a 22-year-old fashion designer, Miss Oluwabamise Ayanwola.

Sanwo-Olu gave the assurance in a statement on Tuesday, saying that the “life of every resident’’ of the state mattered and would not be taken for granted. He also promised that justice would be served. Read more.
