Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson Okojie has condoled with the families of the victims of the bank robberies which happened in Uromi, Edo State on Thursday.
In a condolence message on her social media pages, the actress revealed that her husband and children are from Uromi, thus making her an indigene of the community. She said, “Black Thursday. My Husband is from Uromi, my kids are from Uromi and I am from Uromi.
“Whatsoever concerns Uromi concerns me. Hence, I’m using this medium to reach out to the families of the victims that lost their lives during the Thursday robbery incident that took place in Uromi.
“We pray that this ugly incident never reoccurs again and we pray for the repose of the ones that lost their lives. My sincere condolence goes to every Uromi son and daughter.”
Robbers attacked commercial banks in Uromi on Thursday and carted away funds. Police have confirmed that seven persons lost their lives in the robberies.
Six persons were killed following a gunmen attack on commercial banks in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, a police official said. The affected institutions include Zenith Bank, UBA, Union Bank, and First Bank.
The incident took place on Thursday afternoon, according to the spokesman of the Edo State Police Command, Bello Kontong. The affected persons include two police officers and four civilians.
