Simon Leviev: Comedian Bovi mistaken for swindler in London hotel
Nigerian stand-up comedian Bovi Ugboma, popularly known as ‘Bovi’ has narrated an experience in a London hotel where he was mistaken for a swindler.
He shared this via his verified Instagram account on Thursday, February 10, 2022, in a story post.
In that post, he explains that he was trying to check-in to a hotel located in London, England, and he was asked to present the bank card he used to book a room.
He tried explaining it was his wife who completed the booking with her card and she is in Nigeria, but they thought he was telling a lie and trying to pull a scam like Netflix Documentary’s Tinder Swindler, Simon Leviev.
To save himself, the comedian had to for the first time in his life, ask the people attending to him to ‘google him’.
“Simon Leviev done spoil everywhere o. Trynna check into hotel in London and they insist I present the card that was used for booking.”
“I tell them it was done for me by my wife and she is in naij. That made it worse”
“They think I’m stealing. Then to crown am, my own card dey decline. For the first time in my life, I said the words ‘google me’” he wrote.
