Netflix movie, Tinder Swindler, exposed the dark side of popular dating app, Tinder.

A conman, Simon Levieve, was presented in the documentary to have swindled women huge sums of money while pretending to be a diamond merchant who travelled around the globe.

His modus operandi involves spending one woman’s money to impress another like a Ponzi scheme.

Three of the victims who spoke up in the Netflix documentary were left penniless and in debt after the scam in which the conman would call them to fake, he was in danger and needed their help with the promise of refunding them all money spent.

He made them use their credit cards to book flights and also made some of them bring cash over to him.

Afterwards, Simon Levieve, would send them a fake check with figures higher than the amount owed them.
