Reactions as police allegedly arrest MAPOLY student for buying postpill

Nigerian Twitter on Friday went agog after a report that police in Ogun state allegedly arrested a student of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), in Abeokuta, Ogun state for buying postpill.

This was after a Twitter user, @Sisi_Olole, tweeted; “My sister a student of mapoly just got arrested for going to buy postpill and pregnancy strip. She’s at police post Abeokuta. Please help me oooo this police thing don reach my side”.

Giving update on the development, she added the victim is “getting charged to elewe eran please help my life ejoor.

“Ejoor ooooo they just collected her phone now while was speaking with her . Her name is Olanipekun Oladayo Irenimofe.” (sic)

Reactions

A Twitter user, @frost9ja, said; “This country is mad. I was harrased by NDLEA for bringing Advil into the country. ADVIL oh! A pain killer!!!! They said it had no Nigeria NAFDAC number on it so it can be considered as a hard drug.”

Replying @frost9ja, another user, @JonesOluwaseun1, said; “It’s actually a crime as you all clamour for a decent society but choose to be charlatan. At your exposure you don’t know you need nafdac number for such product. Even in UK you claim to get it from some of those drugs are only release on doctor prescriptions.”

Commenting, @Jaggarr, recalls; “Nah so one stop goat seller way carry goat on top bike say where the receipt oh. me way them hold my own okada I don laugh Taya. The Aboki say haaaa Ba receipt police OMO police man face me saying Mr why laughing. Him ask me na bad thing to ask receipt? I say No officer”.

@whaleminton said; “My friend was arrested because they saw him with sex enhancing herb and condom”.

@dajabulani however observed; “Something is not add up Either one of the policemen tried to woe her and she declined. Not even the contraceptive stuff. Policemen can be unfortunate, they once arrested a friend for not doing Yahoo and wasting their time. That institution is a curse”.
