Nigerian social media influencer and aphrodisiac seller, Hausa Saidu Mohammed, popularly known as Jaaruma, was on Friday granted bail by the Upper area Court in Zuba, Abuja, after being in police custody for four days.

The aphrodisiac seller was granted bail by the presiding judge Barrister Ismail Abdullahi Jibril, who said that the charge against Jaruma is bailable and present one surety on grade level 12 working in FCT, Abuja, as a part of her bail conditions.

She was charged to court on a four-count charge of defamation of character, criminal intimidation, injurious falsehood, and publishing falsehood to incite the public to hate against the husband to Nollywood actress, Ned Nwoko.

Jaaruma had pleaded not guilty to the charges and her lawyer applied for bail which the judge granted on Friday, 28, January, 2022.

Nigerian human right activist Omoyele Sowore had earlier called out Ned Nwoko for damaging innocent Nigerian citizens.

In an Instagram post where he expresses his displeasure over the arrest of ‘Jaaruma’ for alleged defamation, Sowore said; “defamation is a civil matter”

He wrote, “It is disheartening that Nigeria Police Force continues to deploy itself to despicable VIP mercenary activities.”

“This so-called Billionairë, Ned Nwoko has done so much damage to lots of innocent citizens in his community with the aid of the Nigerian police. Jaruma is his latest victim. This culture cannot stand! Defamation is a civil matter! Let @jaruma_empire go!”
