Cyberfraud: Hushpuppi to be sentenced on Valentine’s Day

Hushpuppi will be sentenced on Valentine’s Day for crimes bordering on internet fraud.

The influencer in 2019 colluded with North Korean military hackers, Jon Chang Hyok, Kim Il, and Park Jin Hyok, as well as a Canadian colleague to pull a $14.7 million cyber-heist.

In June of 2020, Nigerian social media influencer Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi, was arrested in Dubai and later extradited to the USA.

The alleged fraudster Ramon Olorunwa Abbas has been detained for about two years, and exactly three years after his collusion, will be sentenced on February 14th, 2022, according to a report confirmed by the U.S. Department of Justice.

Confirming this, Thom Mrozek, spokesperson of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California said; “We expect him to be sentenced on February 14,”.
