Nigeria’s men national team, Super Eagles, have continued to fly high as they pocketed Guinea Bissau in a 2-0 win in their last group game on Wednesday.

Guinea-Bissau has not won in the eight matches it has played in the Africa Cup of Nations so far.

Umar Sadiq’s second-half strike put the Super Eagles side in front, before captain William Troost-Ekong doubled the lead after a long VAR review.

With the win, the Super Eagles are the only team to secure maximum points from the group stage.

They will face one of the best third-placed teams in the last 16 on Sunday, as their search for a fourth AFCON title continues.

Nigeria made eight changes to starting lineup. Premier League trio Troost-Ekong, Wilfried Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were the only players to keep their place.
