Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tiwa Savage, has narrated how she was almost slapped by some fans.

Tiwa revealed that the incident occurred when she visited the beach without her security.

Taking to her Instagram story to share videos of her visit to the beach, the ‘Somebody’s Son’ crooner, recounted her experience of when she visited the beach without her security and how ‘costly being outside is.’

She wrote, “One day I do mistake go beach without security and small cash. Omo, I nearly chop slap that day. Hahaha, I love you all too but from afar. Nothing like a calm night in Lagos these days, e too cost to step out.”

Savage performed on the Liberty Stage of Jay Z’s Made in America Festival – During her performance, she brought out Young Paris for a performance of “Best of Me” (Remix).

She released her debut EP Sugarcane on 22 September 2017. It features collaborations with producers and guest artists such as Wizkid, Spellz, Baby Fresh, Maleek Berry and P2J. It explores themes of love and was recorded in English and Yoruba. Sugarcane was nominated for Best Album of the Year at the 2018 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

On 24 August 2018, Savage headlined a concert at The O2‘s Indigo venue. General admission tickets sold out hours before the event. The concert featured additional performances from Don Jazzy, Reekado Banks, Di’Ja, Dr SID, WSTRNAwilo Longomba, Mystro and the Alternate Sound Band.
