Buhari approves Lagos ex-commissioner, Gbeleyi, as FMBN chairman

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of a Chartered Accountant and former Lagos Commissioner of Finance as the new Chairman of the Federal Mortgage of Bank of Nigeria (FMBN).

The announcement was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina on Friday.

The statement noted that the Associate Chartered Institute of Taxation, Gbeleyi, will replace Chief Adewale Adesoji Adeeyo who died on October 15, less than two months after his 73rd birthday.

“A Chartered Accountant and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Gbeleyi is a well-known financial expert who was once a Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State as well as a player in the aviation sector,” the statement reads in part.
