Ime Bishop Umoh, popularly known as Okon Lagos has expressed his despondency at allowing his kids in boarding schools over the incident involving a Dowen college student, Sylvester Oromoni.

Sylvester Oromoni was a 12-year-old student of Dowen College, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

Sylvester was allegedly attacked in his dormitory on November 27, 2021, by his colleagues for his refusal to join a cult. This however was reportedly after he had notified the school management that he was being constantly bullied and harassed by his seniors.

Meanwhile, revealing the details of the autopsy conducted, the Lagos state police commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, said the report did not show that the 12-year-old student was murdered.

In a similar move, the Lagos State Government has cleared five students and five officials of Dowen College linked to the death.

Reacting to the development, the Nollywood actor wrote “I have never boarded in a hostel in secondary school. The only time I did, I was in my SS3”

“With the death of Sylvester and the post-death dramatic twists of events very fresh in memory. I will NOT ALLOW my kids in a boarding school. If I may, then it will be if and only if life and health security is HUGELY guaranteed. Even at that, I’m still very doubtful! (sic)”
