Police nab bandits’ leader, Babuga Yellow, in Niger
The Niger Police Command on Friday disclosed it has nabbed 26-year-old Umar Mohammed, aka Babuga Yellow, a bandits’ leader, for alleged kidnapping.
This was disclosed in a press statement made available to newsmen by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun in Minna.
According to the statement, the suspect “confessed that the syndicate was planning to abduct two prominent persons in Garatu village,” the statement revealed.

The suspect also mentioned names of other gang members who are at large, adding that they have been involved in kidnapping for ransom and cattle rustling.
“During interrogation, he confessed to having belonged to a group of bandits who specialized in cattle rustling and kidnapping for ransom. He mentioned other members of the gang as follows: Bokolore, Ruwance, and, Giware, all presently at large”.
“After series of investigations, he stated that they carry out cattle rustling escapades at different locations in Beji, Wushishi, and Kataeregi,” Wasiu said.
