Corontversial media personality, born Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, a Nigerian-Romanian broadcaster and radio talk show host, has said Christ – urging Christians in Nigeria to stop celebrating the day as the birth of Christ.

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.

Freeze, who is always in the news for calling out Pastors over tithing and offerings, has again stated, Saturday that, “remember that although no one is stopping you from having your well-deserved end of year fun, this fun has NOTHING to do with Christ!”

Christians in Nigeria have joined their fellow believers across the world to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

It is accompanied by the teachings of Christ, which include showing love to one another and tolerance, among other Christian virtues.

But for Daddy Freeze, “Christ wasn’t born on December 25, “There is nowhere in scripture, from Genesis to revelation, where followers of God, Christians or Jews, celebrated birthdays. However, there are two clear scriptural instances of pagans celebrating birthdays, Pharaoh’s in Genesis 40:20 and Herod’s in Matthew 14:6-12”.

The radio personality added that the New Testament was written over 60 years. No one ever celebrated Christ’s birth or was asked to glorify Christ himself, the apostles, disciples, or early church.

He maintained, “Christmas is a symbol of imported pagan cultures, a subtle indication of neo-colonialism and a consequent reminder of sl@very.

“The day was set aside by our colonial masters, syncretized with the celeb of their gods. Don’townave the pagan celebrations that we can syncretize, must we celebrate their ownanism?”.

For Freeze, “The idea behind Christmas is pagan, the day pagan, Christmas tree pagan, mistletoe pagan, giving of gifts, pagan, partying & revelry pagan, at’s the point?”

His eight paragraph post on his verified Instagram page continued, “If in John 8:32, Christ said you will know the truth and it would set you free, why then are you disregarding the truth in favor of convenient lies?”.

“Christmas is the time of the year when much alcohol is drunk & many accidents happen, and it’s NOT a Godly festival! Rather, it’s filled with revelry and wild celebrating,” his post reads in parts.

According to onlinefirstaid.com, Christmas is a peak time for increased stress and accidents for both humans and pets. He Claimed, according to RoSPA, more than 80,000 people go to A&E each year for Christmas-related accidents and over 6,000 of these need to be admitted. Decorations, fires, new toys, visitors, cooking and houses packed with over-excited children and extra animals present many potential hazards. Factor in the additional seasonal stress and alcohol, and you can start to understand how people fall foul of the festive season.

Christmas feast is preceded by the season of Advent or the Nativity Fast. It initiates the season of Christmastide, which historically in the West lasts twelve days and culminates on the Twelfth Night.

Christmas Day is a public holiday in many countries, is celebrated religiously by most Christians and culturally by many non-Christians, and forms an integral part of the holiday season organized around it.
