Ex-Minister of Labour, Akwanga, is dead

The former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Alhaji Hussaini Zanwa Akwanga, has died at the age of 77.

NewsWireNGR gathered that Akwanga died on Friday at his home town, Akwanga, Akwanga Local Government Area in Nasarawa state.

Akwange, a professional teacher was aminister under the administration of ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo in 2003. He was relieved of duty during a cabinet reshuffle.

In 2017, he was kidnapped on his farm in Kurmin Tagwaye village, near Akwanga, but was released two days.

A family source who didn’t want to be named said the abductors were paid an unspecified amount as ransom before his release.
