Oyo palace confirms death of monarch, Soun of Ogbomoso, aged 95

Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi JP CON, CFR, Ajagungbade III, Soun of Ogbomoso, Oyo state has died at the age of 95.

The death of the Soun who ascended the throne 48 years ago was on Sunday confirmed by the palace.

Oba Oladunni became a king at the age of 47 as he was born May 27, 1926, in Ogbomoso. His parent are Oba Bello Oyewumi Ajagungbade II and Ayaba Seliat Olatundun Oyewumi.

A source in the town who also confirmed the monarch’s death said; “It is true that Baba has passed on. It happened this morning but it has not been announced officially.

“He lived a good life and left many good legacies. The palace will soon announce it.”
