“I have tested positive to Covid-19” – Maria of BBNaija tells her fans
Maria Chike Benjamin, BBNaija season 6 Housemate said she has caught the COVID-19 disease and is being treated in Ghana.
Maria, a former air hostess announced her positive test to her over 900,000 fans on Instagram today and NewsWireNGR recalls and had reported that Maria had an encounter with Ghanaian authorities where it was alleged that she was detained.
She said she was surprised by the result, as she tested negative before she left Dubai in the UAE.
“I will be in Ghana until I am fully recovered and tested negative”, she said in a statement posted on her Instagram story.
She continued, “I initially had a negative result from DubAi less than 24 hours of coming into Ghana, upon arrival into Ghana I tested Positive and was asked to quarantined, I got a different doctor that tested me negative again.”
In the meantime, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC), has reported 107 additional COVID-19 infections across seven states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The NCDC disclosed this via its website on Wednesday morning and said that there were no fatalities recorded on Tuesday in the country.
The new cases indicate a decrease from the 167 reported on Monday.
NCDC stated that while the fatality toll still stood at 2,980, the infection toll had increased to 214,896 in the country as of Tuesday.
A total of 207,495 people have now been treated and discharged.
