#MOBOAwards: Wizkid wins Best African Act, Best International Act Awards

Nigerian singer Wizkid has won two awards at the 2021 MOBO Awards late Sunday, organizers announced during the event. 

Machala, as he is fondly called, won the Best African Music Act and the Best International Act at the awards.

In a twitter post, MOBO Awards wrote, “WizKid fans, make some noise!” as his award was mentioned.

The pop star who won two awards, for best African act and best international act has had a great 2021 with multiple awards being announced back to back in recent days, from  Apple Music to Spotify, his Grammy nominations and his much talked about O2 concert.

The ceremony returned as a live show, at Coventry Building Society Arena, the first time since 2017. There were no awards in 2018 and 2019 and only a virtual ceremony in 2020. 

Hosted by Munya Chawawa and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, it featured live performances by Ghetts, Pa Salieu, Stefflon Don and Ms Banks, Bree Runway, Potter Payper, Tems, NSG and Enny.
