Ini Edo’s decision to avoid baby daddy is bad for the child — Ghanaian writer

A Ghanaian writer, Waterz Yidana, has slammed people commending Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, for giving birth to her daughter through surrogacy.

Ini Edo had few days ago confirmed she gave birth through surrogacy and that the sperm was from a donor.

According to Yidana, he has no problem with the actress having a child of her own but was against her using a donor sperm.

He asked: ””…who is the baby’s father? Where is he? From which family background? Is he a Ghanaian, Nigerian or a South African? What is his identity? Who is her surrogate mother? Where is she? The woman that suffered to carry her nine months in her womb!…”.

Ini Edo had noted that despite the birth being through surrogacy, “the eggs are mine and so genetically, she’s my blood”.

“I chose this path to fulfil my dream of becoming a mother. I still have a good number of eggs frozen in case I decide to do surrogacy again or carry my baby myself.”

The actress however revealed she had the baby almost a year ago.

“I was hoping to talk about her on her first birthday in a few months but mischief-makers beat me to it and spoilt the beautiful story with lies”.

On the paternity of the child, Ini Edo, denied a married man, identified as Kome is the father of her daughter.
