Tottenham manager, Nuno Santo, sacked after Man United defeat

Just four months at the helm of the Tottenham Hotspurs ship, Portuguese manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, has been relieved of his duty.

This is coming a few days after the team’s 3-0 defeat by Manchester United.

Nuno had a good start at the club after leaving Wolves at the end of last season. He won his first three league matches upon his arrival at the north London club after taking over from Jose Mourinho.

He also won the Premier League manager of the month in August and led the club to the League Cup quarter-finals.

This achievement however seems not enough to impress the Tottenham board especially as the team failed to register a single shot on target during their 3-0 defeat by Man United.

The result was Spurs’ fifth defeat in seven league games, and the fourth time they had conceded three goals this season.

Antonio Conte and Paolo Fonseca are among the names rumoured to be in the frame to replace Nuno.
