FC Barcelona (Barca) have announced Sergi Barjuan as its interim coach after the sack of Ronald Koeman following Wednesday’s 1-0 LaLiga loss to Rayo Vallecano, their third defeat in their last four league games.

Prior to his appointment, Barjuan was the head coach of Barcelona B (a position he still retains).

The club former player, Xavi Hernandez, is expected to take over from Barjuan after the termination of his coaching contract with Al-Sadd.

This was disclosed by football transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano. According to a tweet by Romano, “Barcelona will announce new interim coach. Then it’s gonna be Xavi. He has accepted Barça project after talking with president Laporta days ago. Still waiting contract termination process with Al-Sadd. ? #FCB.
