Why Fayemi didn’t visit Tinubu in Lagos — Akeredolu

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, the Ondo state governor and chairman of the South West Governors’ Forum has explained why his counterpart, the governor of Ekiti state and chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Kayode Fayemi was absent when the South West governors visited the national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Ahmed Tinubu, on Tuesday.

NewsWireNGR recalls the South West governors had visited the former Lagos state governor at his residence, Bourdillon in Ikoyi, Lagos State.

Akeredolu during the visit had said Tinubu is not just the leader of the South-West but also the only national leader of the APC in the country.

Meanwhile, the governor of Ekiti state was absent and in reaction to insinuations in some quatres, Akeredolu in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde in Akure said Dr. Fayemi was with them at the Southwest Governors’ Forum meeting held earlier at Lagos House, Marina, but had to leave to catch a late flight to Port Harcourt where he was a guest speaker at the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference dinner.

“Governor Fayemi was with us at the Southwest Governors’ Forum meeting held earlier at the Lagos House in Marina. He had to leave to catch a late flight to Port Harcourt where he was billed to attend the NBA Conference dinner.

“He sent his apology to Asiwaju as well as his good wishes. The rest of us who visited Asiwaju’s residence tendered same and extended Fayemi’s good wishes.”
