Anambra deputy governor, Okeke, kills APGA’s rooster, picks up APC’s broom

The Deputy Governor of Anambra state, Dr Nkem Okeke, has officially dumped the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His official defection to the ruling party was unveiled when he was received by President Muhammadu Buhari along with the APC Caretaker Committee Chairman and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni.

Okeke was presented to President Buhari by the Chairman of the APC Campaign Organization for the November 6, governorship election in Anambra State and governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

His defection is coming days after several insinuations of his possible change of alliance.

Dr. Okeke first served as Anambra State Commissioner for Economic Planning, and again as Anambra State Commissioner for Works and Transport in the administration of Governor Peter Obi.
