Bandits kill 18 villagers during night attack in Zamfara

Armed bandits Tuesday night stormed Kuryan Madaro village in Zamfara state killing no fewer than 18 villagers.

Local sources said some houses and business shops were razed, together with 15 vehicles, which include a police patrol van.

The is no official statement as regards the development from the authorities of the state.

Meanwhile, the state government said it has secured the release of no fewer than 200 additional people abducted by bandits through peace dialogue and other security measures.

Zamfara’s Acting Governor, Alhaji Nasiru Magarya, made this disclosure when receiving the delegation of the Conference of Speakers of States Legislatures in Nigeria, in Gusau.

Magarya, who is the Speaker, Zamfara House of Assembly, received the delegation, who paid him a condolence visit over the death of his father, Alhaji Mu’azu Magarya.
