Facebook, WhatsApp confirm outage, says working to get things back to normal

Facebook-owned instant messaging platform, WhatsApp has confirmed the outage of its service while promising users it is working to get things back to normal.

NewsWireNGR had earlier reported that applications owned by Facebook, Inc. were hit by outages.

The applications which include Facebook (social media/connection application), Instagram (photo-sharing platform), and WhatsApp (instant messaging platform) at the time of publication were not loading.

Reacting, WhatsApp in a statement on Twitter said; “We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment.

“We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!”

In a similar manner, Facebook also posted on Twitter: “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products.

“We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience”.

In a similar manner, Instagram posted; “Instagram and friends are having a little bit of a hard time right now, and you may be having issues using them. Bear with us, we’re on it! #instagramdown
