Gunmen abduct Niger state permanent secretary, grandchild

The permanent secretary of Niger State Ministry of Transportation, Dr Ibrahim Garba Musa, has been abducted by gunmen.

The gunmen suspected to be bandits according to reports also kidnapped, along with him, his granddaughter.

Narrating the unfortunate event, a family member said the gunmen gained entrance to the house by breaking down the gate.

Confirming the incident, Secretary to the Niger State Government, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, said he was just informed.

According to him, the state government would ensure the rescue of the official and his granddaughter.

Meanwhile, there is no official statement from the state police command at the time of publication.
