Ogun: Man arrested for allegedly impregnating 19-year-old daughter blames the devil

Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old man, Olaoluwa Jimoh, for allegedly impregnating his own biological daughter (name withheld). 

NewsWireNGR learnt that the suspect, who claimed to have “uncontrollable libido” was arrested on Thursday, September 16 after his daughter lodged a complaint at Ode Remo divisional headquarters. 

According to the victim, she has been living with her father for the past two years, but sometime in June 2021, her father allegedly forcefully had sex with her. 

She further claimed that since then, she has been raped severally by her father who always threatened to kill her if she dared to inform anybody.  

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Sunday said, “The 19-year-old victim informed the police that her mother has separated from the father long time ago, and that she has been living with her mother until about two years ago when the suspect asked her to come and be living with him. She decided to report, not minding the threat of her father, when she discovered that she had gotten pregnant. 

Upon the report, the DPO Ode Remo division, CSP Fasogbon Olayemi, quickly instructed his detectives to go after the suspect and he was promptly arrested.” 

Oyeymi added that on interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime but claimed that he was used by the devil. 

Meanwhile, the suspect would be transferred to State CIID, Eleweran, Abeokuta as ordered by the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, for further investigation.
