Police arrest one over bandits’ threat letter to Sokoto communities

The Sokoto police command has arrested one suspect over a threat letter purportedly written by bandits and addressed to five Sokoto communities.
The letter which was written in Hausa language was found under a tree in one of the communities.
The bandits listed five communities, Shuni, Kwanar Kimba, Rikina, and Dange, all in Dange/Shuni local government area of Sokoto state as targets of their attack.

The bandits also boasted that no force can stop them from carrying out their threat.
The bandits allegedly added that a million army personnel will not stop them from carrying out their planned attack which they said may be carried out at any moment from now.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Kola Okunlola, in a statement on Sunday, assured members of the communities that the police are on the trail of those who wrote the letter.
Okunlola also said one person has been arrested and is helping the police with its investigations.
