Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has described the sit-at-home protest of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a mere social media propaganda.

He says this as he lauds President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Imo state on Thursday.

The President was in the state to inaugurate key projects embarked upon by Mr Uzodinma’s government

Prior to the visit, IPOB had declared a sit-at-home in the state, and said Buhari is not welcome in Imo.

Speaking on the visit in an interview on Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today hours after, Uzodimma said residents of the state were excited about the president’s visit, and that they came out to welcome him.

“You could see that the sit at home order is only a social media sit at home order,” the governor said.

“The sit at home order is not in Imo State because we never issued any sit at home order. Imo people are excited, Imo people are happy that the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, one  united Nigeria with common destiny, visited Imo state, commissioned projects and spoke to his people.

“And he left happy. There was no security breach, no incident of disloyalty. There was no violence.”
