After enforcing the forceful closure of schools, bandits terrorising Zamfara State have converted some classrooms to personal use.
This is according to a Daily Trust findings reported on Wednesday.
The paper reports that dozens of primary schools in highly traumatised remote rural communities had been taken over by armed criminals.
According to the report, a head headmaster of one primary school in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of the state was once confronted by armed men who asked him to close lessons for the day as they intended to sleep in the classrooms.
Gripped by the consequences of not granting the order of the bandits, the headmaster immediately closed the school and asked all the pupils to go home.
Some of the schools have been abandoned due to lack of teachers. The teachers posted to the schools located in rural areas rejected the posting because of the fear of the bandits.
