Sowore announces burial date for his brother, Olajide

Omoyele Sowore has announced the burial date for his brother, Olajide, who was murdered by suspected kidnappers in Edo state.

According to the publisher of Sahara Reporters, “My dearest brother and childhood friend, Olajide will be buried on Thursday at our hometown, Kiribo in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State, at 10 am”.

Fondly called “Dr Mamiye” by his brother, Olajide was a Pharmacy student at the Igbinedion University in Edo state.

He had earlier dropped out of school to explore the world of music until he decided to return to school after he “almost turned 50!”.

Describing his younger brother, Omoyele Sowore had said; “You, the boy who snuck out his older ones to parties, taking all the blames when our disciplinarian father found out”.

Confirming the incident, the Edo state police command said; “the deceased was shot dead in Edo by gunmen in the early hours of Saturday.

“In addition to killing the younger Sowore, the suspected kidnappers made away with five unidentified persons.”

In his announcement, Sowore thanked Nigerians for commiserating with him on the death of his brother.

“Again, Thank you all for reaching out with great love and kind words of consolation, support and solidarity over the tragic but still unexplained death of my dearest brother, Felix Olajide Sowore.

“I send you loads of gratitude from the bottom of my heart and that of my entire family,” he said.
