It was a lucky day for three (3) members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Wednesday as they escaped an “attempted assassination” along Akwanga-Lafia Highway.

The lawmakers, Hon Samuel Tsebe (APC-Akwanga South), Hon David Maiyaki (APC- Karu/ Gitata) and Hon Peter Akwanga (PDP- Obi 1), were reported to have been on their way to the burial of the elder brother of the wife of a colleague.

Narrating their ordeal, Hon Tsebe said; “When we are approaching Wowyen village along Akwanga/ Lafia road, that is between Police Mobile Training College, Ende Hills and the village towards the bridge.

“I heard gun shoot at the driver’s side of my car in which I was the one driving. The bullet has broken the glasses of my car.

“The shot was targeted at the driver in which I was the one driving, so this gave me the suspicion that someone was monitoring my movement and knew that I was the one driving”.

Hon Akwe was in his car ahead followed by Hon Maiyaki, who was also in his car and Hon Tsebe was coming behind in his car too when the suspected assassins shot at his car.
