2023: Tinubu, Osinbajo not fit to rule Nigeria — Bode George

Chief Bode George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has described former governor of Lagos state, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, unfit to rule Nigeria.

The PDP chieftain in an interview with The Punch said the country needs a God-fearing, committed, dedicated, selfless human being to be the President while noting someone like Tinubu lacks such character.

Speaking on the purported interest of Tinubu contesting the presidency seat, Bode George said; “Well, it is his personal decision. For me, I don’t think he has that character — that is my personal belief. I’m not God.

“Like I said, it is my own opinion, but he cannot wear that cap”.

Backing up his claim, the former military governor of Ondo state said; “Just mention Alpha-Beta alone, what is behind that Alpha-Beta? And everybody is pretending that they don’t know?

“Who set it up? Who got all those people in the House of Assembly to approve the bill? Have those people working in Lagos Internal Revenue Service disappeared or what?

“What is good is good and what is bad is bad. Never have I heard anywhere in a civilised world where somebody will set up a company to be collecting the revenue on behalf of the government and they pay first to the account of that company before they remit the money to the government coffers. What could be more criminal in nature than that?

“I look at the future of my state, it is bleak. But of course, after the Federal Government’s debt profile, Lagos State is next. What’s going on in this country that you cannot tell the truth to power?”

While commenting on the capability and integrity of VP Osinbajo, Bode George said; “If he (Osinbajo) could work with Bola Tinubu for eight years as his legal adviser and Commissioner for Justice, then I reserve my comments.

“Wasn’t it under his watch that he brought Alpha-Beta to be registered? Was he not the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice?

“Why did he allow that? Why didn’t he advise against that? Have you ever heard in a civilised world that whoever is managing the country will set up a company and then allow that company to start collecting the revenue of the state, when you have full-salaried personnel in the IRS? What is sickening is sickening, what is evil is evil”.

However, to the best of our knowledge at NewsWireNGR, the duo (Tinubu and Osinbajo) has not publicly declared their intentions to run for the seat of the number one citizen of the country. Although, there are insinuations of such move from either camp, notably that of Tinubu.

Meanwhile, NewsWireNGR had earlier reported that a group, Osinbajo Ganduje Alliance, on Saturday flooded Abuja with presidential posters of the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, and the governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje.

The group in a statement obtained by NewsWireNGR claimed, “Vice President Osinbajo and Governor Ganduje have both offered the most plausible solutions to ending the security crisis occasioned by the farmers-herders crisis across the country”.
