A 48-year-old Nigerian man, Noel Njoku, has been shot dead in the United States by an unknown person while delivering food to a home in Mitchellville, Maryland.

The Nigerian according to NBC Washington worked as a delivery driver with a tech startup, DoorDash, in the country and was found suffering from gunshot wounds at about 12:20 am in a car at the 3700 block of Lottsford Vista road.

He was taken to a hospital, where he died. His killer is yet to be identified; likewise the motive for such act.

Njoku was a married man with four children: two daughters, age 15 and 13, and 11-year-old twin boys.

Njoku was a happy, “peace-loving person” who moved to the U.S. from Nigeria decades ago. He had only recently started working for DoorDash, his brother, Chidi Njoku, told newsmen.

“Please, anybody who has any information, please, please, please — anybody who has any information should come and help us out, please,” he said through tears.

“I want to know who killed my husband,” the victim’s wife said.

After her husband failed to answer her calls, she went from hospital to hospital looking for him. Finally, an officer at University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center broke the news.
