Are you one of the more than 50 million subscribers of Globacom Limited (popularly known as Glo) and would like to know how to load a recharge card and activate a special data plan in Nigeria, NewsWireNGR gets you covered.

How To Load Glo Card

To recharge Glo card in Nigeria, you will need to use the shortcode *123*RechargeDigit#; then send and wait for a response. It should note if it is successful and you will receive a confirmation message.

Globacom cards usually have 15 Digits PIN. Check the recharge card for the PIN. Some recharge cards may require scratching, check the rear part of it for where to scratch and be gentle and careful when doing this.

How to recharge Glo from your bank

In case you are in an area where you can’t get a recharge card or too lazy/busy to walk down the street to get from a glocard vendor, your bank is there for you.

Banks have their special USSD codes for accessing many options such as Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB)  using *737#; First Bank using *894#; United African Bank (UBA) using *919#; etc.

However, to recharge from your bank without knowing your bank code, just dial *805#. You will be presented with options of recharging using your Bank or Code. From here, you can choose your preferred choice and/or bank.

Currently, there are 13 banks on the *805# platform:

  • Access Bank
  • Diamond Bank
  • FCMB
  • Fidelity Bank
  • Jaiz Bank
  • Heritage Bank
  • Keystone Bank
  • Skye Bank
  • Stanbic
  • UBA
  •  Union Bank
  • Unity Bank
  • Zenith Bank

How to activate Glo special data plan

Globacom Limited (Glo) owned by Nigerian billionaire, Mike Adenuga, pride itself as the grandmaster of data. The telecommunication company is reputed for being the pioneer of offering lots of data in return for the amount of airtime recharged.

Generally, to access the different data plans offered by Glo, dial *777# on your phone. You may also access the option using the bank method or from your special bank codes. Instead of selecting airtime (in bank method), choose data.

However, if your SIM is new, we will advise you to first recharge by airtime on your phone before converting to data.

This is because you are likely to get a bonus on your recharge; thus, two benefits with a single recharge. But if you are no longer eligible for bonuses on recharge, it is fine to recharge directly from your bank.
