Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has refuted claims that he is competing with fellow music star, Wizkid.
The “African Giant” crooner and Grammy award winner disclosed this during a recent interview with DJ Whoo Kid, the American–Haitian hip hop disc jockey.
Burna Boy, speaking during the show, stated that there is no rivalry between him and Wizkid and he explained that both of them are two different artistes adding that while he sings about real life, Wizkid mostly explores songs bordering on women.
He however stated that the similarity between them has to do with their birth country and the love they have for each other.
Burna Boy said: “No, we’re not competing. We are on two different lanes in life, you know? And the only similarity really, is the fact that we are from the same place and we love each other, you get me?
“That’s what brings us together. It’s where we’re from and the love we have for each other. Other than that, we are on two different lanes… Wizkid is about the btches, You get me? I’m about real life and the btches….”
Last month, the star added yet another international award to his repertoire by winning Best International Act at the 2021 BET Awards.
