Kaduna State Government orders the immediate closure of 13 schools

The Kaduna State Government has ordered the immediate closure of thirteen schools located in areas prone to bandits attack.

The directive was issued to proprietors of private schools in the state by Umma Ahmed, the Director-General of Quality Assurance Authority, Ministry of Education, Kaduna State. The closure is to take place with immediate effect.

This follows the recent abduction of students from Bethel Baptist college in the state by bandits on Monday.

The armed bandits attacked the school located in Maraban Rido, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State. 

The police spokesperson, Muhammad Jalige, in a statement to reporters, said 26 out of the about 100 students abducted have been rescued.
