Arrest armed Fulani herdsmen the way you arrested Kanu- Ortom tells Federal Government

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has urged the Federal Government to apply the same zeal it used in arresting Nnamdi Kanu,  leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to also capture the armed Fulani herdsmen terrorising the country. 

Kanu, who has been agitating for the freedom of people from the south-east region was extradited to Nigeria on Sunday and arraigned in court on Tuesday.  

At the Tuesday hearing, the federal high court in Abuja ordered he be remanded in custody till July 26. 

Reacting to the arrest in a tweet on Thursday, Ortom expressed that the Federal government is yet to arrest the herdsman that have claimed responsibility for attacks. 

“If the federal government has the capacity to arrest Nnamdi Kanu in a foreign land, they should exhibit the same zeal to arrest armed Fulani herdsmen who are terrorising our country. The herdsmen have claimed responsibility for the killing of many Nigerians,” he tweeted.
