Zamfara Senator dumps PDP during plenary

The Senator representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District, Hassan Mohammed Gusau, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party.

His resignation was announced on Tuesday during plenary by the Senate President Ahmed Lawan.

The senator claimed that factionalisation and infighting in the Zamfara State chapter of the PDP were the key reasons why he is defecting.

He, however, didnt say if he would be joining the ruling All Progressives Congress.

He told his colleagues that he will make his decision known on the party he hopes to join soon.

Recall that The Presidency had on Sunday, confirmed the defection of the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.
